A rare patch of woodland close to Beachy Head and a sheltered gully east of it. In addition there is a patchwork of down-land scrub on the hilltop.
The wood is known to attract migrants, seeking cover. Proximity to Beachy Head means practically anything can turn up here. The wood had resident tawny Owls, but they have been absent for a few years.
Remarkable for: Bee Orchids, Early Spider Orchids, Migrants
